Z 0423.000 Fontaine (Lamar) Papers

Papers of Lamar Fontaine, of Lyon, pertaining principally to his authorship of "All Quiet Along the Potomac To-night," which was published on October 23, 1861, at Columbia, S.C. The collection contains one manuscript (pp. 6) by Fontaine entitled "Musings Along the Shores of the Great Sea, while on a visit to the Far Orient," and dated Dec. 24, 1908. The volume (pp. 39, 19 x 24 cm.) contains poetry by Fontaine dated from August 9, 1861, to January 1, 1912.
