Business and military papers of members of the McLaurin family of Brandon, Rankin County, Mississippi. These papers include several bills of sale for slaves, including one for 71 slaves bought for $37,000 from Duncan McLaurin, of Simpson County, by Daniel and John D. McLaurin, November 11, 1847. Lauchlin, Duncan, and John D. McLaurin were signers of the various papers. The papers are distributed by dates as follows:
