Letters and papers relating to Auguston Mizell, Jackson, and the Cuban Expedition in which he participated as captain of cavalry in 1850. The papers include an undated report from Captain A. Mizell to Adjutant General Gonzales; two photostats and three typewritten copies of a bond for $5,000 made to Mizell by Narciso Lopez, chief of the "Patriotic Junta for the promotion of the Political Interests of Cuba"; the commission of Mizell as captain of cavalry in the Liberating Army of Cuba, signed by Lopez; and a list of the men who served under Mizell's command in the Cuban expedition. The letters include three concerning the Cuban expedition (August 18–21, 1851); and six to Caroline Mizell, Jackson, from her father, A. Mizell, written during the Civil War (January 9 - November 24, 1862). Also included is a bank account book of Griffith and Stewart, in account with A. Mizzell. Contains a few entries from 1860-1863 and fourteen pages of accounts. The book is 17 by 10.5 cm. in size.
