ROWLAND (MRS. DUNBAR) PAPERS


Eron Opha Rowland was the wife of Dr. Dunbar Rowland, and was on the staff of the Department of Archives and History. This collection is mostly correspondence from 1908 to 1938 during which time she did much writing and served in various capacities in national historic organization. There are two letters from Woodrow Wilson, one as President of the United States, 1914, and the other written while president of Princeton University, 1908. Also there are letters from Lyon Tyler, Moreau B. Chambers, Belle Kearney, and Stark Young. The correspondence is arranged alphabetically.

Also there is miscellaneous material relating to the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Women's Christian Temperance Union and other organizations, and a great many sympathy notes and flower cards received during the illness and after the death of Dr. Rowland. This collection contains the unfinished manuscript of Mrs. Rowland's "Story of Jackson."
