Z 0722.000 Sharkey (William L.) Manuscript

A manuscript entitled "An Inquiry into the Constitutionality of the Act of the Confederate States Congress Suspending the Habeas Corpus," written by William L. Sharkey. It is dedicated to the people of the Confederate States "by one of themselves," and signed "Publius." The 28-page document was presumably written after this act was passed by the 1st Confederate Congress, 4th session, and approved February 15, 1864.
