Z 0726.000 Smith (Thomas) Manuscript

Photostat copy of a typewritten manuscript by Thomas Smith, native of Choctaw County, Mississippi, entitled "Sketches of the Confederate War, Giving an Account of His Connection with the Confederate Service, 1861–1865." Smith enlisted in Company D, 15th Mississippi Regiment, and saw action in Kentucky and Tennessee. He was discharged after the Battle of Shiloh, re-enlisted in Company D, 43rd Mississippi Regiment in 1863, and participated in the Battle of Iuka, the Siege of Vicksburg, and the Battle of Atlanta.
