BUTTERFIELD (FRANCES WESTGATE) PAPERS


Typescripts of articles written by Frances Westgate Butterfield and published in newspapers and various national periodicals. Miss Butterfield, a native of Brookhaven, Mississippi, taught school in Korea for three years, served as a public relations officer in the Women's Army Corps during World War II, wrote publicity for the Board of Education of New York City, and later taught at the Metropolitan Vocational School in New York.

The volume is a draft of her book From Little Acorns (New York: Renbayle House, 1951). The collection also includes the first and second drafts of this book.
