Included is one postcard signed by Jefferson Davis, n.d., addressed to James Crutchett, Washington, D.C. The other five items are photocopies. Letter, n.d., to Rev, Charles B. Galloway, Brookhaven; letter, January 19, 1861, to Gov. Pickens, Charleston, S.C., concerning the appointment of an officer. An important item is a letter to the Confederate House of Representatives, June 1, 1864, transmitting information concerning the Palmetto Battalion of Light Artillery of South Carolina. Letter, May 5, 1870, to the Hon. Saul J. Roberts, recommending D. A. Wolf, on the letterhead of the Carolina Life Insurance Company, Jefferson Davis, President.
