This collection consists of an original handwritten narrative of Thomas C. Patterson, who was born in Dutchess County, New York, in 1766. He was taken prisoner by the Mohawk Indians during the American Revolution. This volume is an account of his experiences as a captive. Patterson later moved to the South, and his descendants, the Patterson and McLemore families, live in Copiah County, Mississippi.
