Z 0836.000 Roberts (G. W.) Papers

Personal papers of George Washington Roberts. An undated genealogical manuscript gives the birth and death dates of his parents, Jane (Jacobs) and Orville Roberts: of his marriage to Martha Rolling; and his birth date and those of their children. The other undated item, a photograph of a young man in Confederate uniform, is labeled "Elisha Jacobs—A Soldier Boy." One letter from St. J. Thomas, September 14, 1862, announces the birth of a son to Roberts and his wife. The other letter is from Mollie C. Biggs, dated April 16, 1866, concerning her proposals of marriage.
