The items in this collection were retrieved from the cornerstone of the school, Hazlehurst High School built in 1888, when it was demolished. The tickets of the Republican National Party, the National Prohibition Party, and the National Democratic Party for 1888 are filed in the broadside file. A "History of Hazlehurst High School to Date: November 7, 1888," by Annie C. Peyton, and the program of the Fourth Annual State Fair of the Mississippi State Fair Association, October 8–13, 1888, are included in the collection.
