FINKBINE LUMBER COMPANY COLLECTION

This collection consists of picture post cards, and photographs taken in 1905, and a letterhead of Finkbine Lumber Company, Wiggins. The pictures show the dry sheds, commissary, round house and machine shops, planing mill, company owned dwellings, and other scenes of the saw mill operations. Also included is a picture of the [Great] Southern Hotel, Gulfport, other scenes along the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and a view of the depot and business section of Wiggins. Several of the post cards are of scenes in New Orleans. Of particular interest are scenes of oxen snaking the timber out of the woods for loading, and the unloading of the timber at the mill.
