Letters from Elijah Cooper (b. May 28, 1812) of Spartanburg, South Carolina, to his children in Kemper County. The names and dates of birth of the eight children of Elijah Cooper and Sarah C. Gorden Cooper are given. The major portion of the letters were written in 1861 by John William Cooper and Thomas Jefferson Cooper to their parents and friends from Winchester, Manassas Junction, Richmond, and Camp Fisher near Dumfries, Virginia.
