LUNDY (DEWITT C.) COLLECTION
This collection consists of pictures, newspaper clippings, correspondence and other memorabilia concerning the original Corn Club of Holmes County, the first such club to be sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture. In 1909 Mr. Lundy received a trip to Washington, D.C., as a winner of one of the first Corn Growing Contests. Included are pictures of Dr. S. A. Knapp, Department of Agriculture, Washington, D.C.; the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the creation of the first Corn Club in Mississippi; Dr. William Hall "Corn Club" Smith, founder of Mississippi's first Corn Club, and pictures of the surviving members of the original Corn Club taken in 1953.
