Z 0967.000 Shields (Joseph Dunbar) Manuscript

Manuscript of "A Historical Sketch of Adams County, Mississippi, delivered at the Centennial Anniversary of American Independence by Joseph D. Shields at the request of the Natchez Light Infantry." Shields (1820–1886), the son of William Bayard Shields, was born at Rokeby in Jefferson County, practiced law in Natchez, was an active layman of Trinity Church, an author, and newspaper contributor.
