WEEKS (LEVI W.) AND FAMILY LETTERS

Original and xerox copies of a letter from Goshen, January 11, 1808, written by Thomas Weeks to son Levi Weeks (1776–1819); a letter from New York, July 17, 1812, written by brother Ezra Weeks to Levi Weeks; and a twenty-page letter from Natchez, September 27, 1812, written by Levi Weeks to Epaphras Hoyt. This letter is of particular interest as Weeks describes Natchez life in great detail. An architect, Weeks also describes the mansion, Auburn, which he was constructing for Lyman Harding. He also built a bank, a Presbyterian Church, and reputedly the east wing of Jefferson College at Washington.
