Xerox copies of papers concerning the Humphreys family of Claiborne County. Governor Benjamin G. Humphreys (1865–1868) was the grandson of Col. Ralph Humphreys of South Carolina. Included is correspondence among various members of the large Humphreys family in Claiborne County, the genealogy of the Humphreys-Hamilton family, and numerous letters. Also included are letters from the Rev. Charles B. Dana, an Episcopal minister, to Mrs. Lizzie Hamilton.
