MUSGROVE (MAGGIE WILLIAMS) PAPERS


Mrs. Maggie Williams Musgrove, who later married Mr. J. M. Taylor, was one of the founders of the Irwin Russell Memorial Association, Port Gibson. The bulk of this collection is correspondence relative to the Irwin Russell Memorial and miscellaneous notes about Irwin Russell and typed and handwritten copies of his works. Among the letters are one from Representative Percy E. Quin, October 10, 1929, and one from Governor Theodore G. Bilbo, October 28, 1929. Also there is one folder of letters from Maurice G. Fulton, 1916–1929.

Mrs. Musgrove was a writer for the W.P.A. Claiborne County History, and included in this collection are notes and typescripts of material relative to that work. One folder is the compiled " historical and other notes on Port Gibson and Claiborne County.…"
