Z 1146.000 Greenleaf (Matilda Beaumont) Letters

Two letters written by Matilda Beaumont Greenleaf. One written May 8, 1822, from Natchez, to an unidentified sister, mentions only family matters. The other, written March 4, 1824, from Port Gibson, addressed to Mrs. Margaret M. Fox, probably the same sister. This letter was written after her marriage to Daniel Greenleaf in December 1822 and describes her new home in Port Gibson and some of the town. An envelope is included on which is written "Old letters written 1822 by the mother of Mrs. V. B. Lindsey."
