Xerox copy of the "History of the Twenty-second Iowa Regiment from the date of Enlistment to the close of service" by Col. William M. Stone, Governor of Iowa. The Twenty-second Iowa was organized in August 1862 at Camp Pope, Iowa City. The unit was involved in the campaign against Vicksburg in 1863, was at New Orleans and later in Virginia.
