The Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) Papers consist of the correspondence mainly of Edmund Taylor, Greenville, Frank E. Everett, Jr., Vicksburg, and C. A. Sullivan, Jackson. A roster of the organizational meeting of the MEC, December 10, 1948, is located in folder 5 along with a carbon copy of the by-laws. Folder 3 contains the Charter of Incorporation of the MEC which occurred in January, 1949. Minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors are also included. A directory of county organization committees is found in folders 13 and 14.
