ROBINSON (NANCY MCDOUGALL) PAPERS
Nancy McDougall was the eldest child of Judge Nicholas and Elizabeth McEvers Rouse McDougall. She was born in Hamilton, Canada, on November 27, 1808. McDougall was educated in Marietta, Ohio. She later moved with her family to Claiborne County, Mississippi. McDougall married Alfred Bassett Robinson, son of John and Sarah Edwards Robinson, on December 31, 1832. Nancy McDougall Robinson began keeping her diaries in July of 1832. She wrote of friends, life, and events in early Mississippi.
