This is an addition to writings of the Reverend John G. Jones, a pioneer Methodist historian in Mississippi. Contained in this addition are the following volumes:

• Volume 1, a brief autobiography of John G. Jones written for his children (begun in 1830 and covering the period 18041833)
• Volume 2, a brief autobiography of J. G. Jones and J. A. Jones written for their children (covering the period 18331887)
• Volume 3, a short autobiography of J. G. Jones and Jane A. Jones, written for the entertainment and edification of their children and grandchildren (covering the period January 13October 1, 1888).
