Z 1424.000 Moore (Jefferis H.) Journal

This roll contains court cases recorded by Jefferis H. Moore while in Westchester County, Pennsylvania. Here he gives a vivid description of the court procedures during the time. Following the cases he gives a day by day account of his travels from Westchester County to Port Gibson. He describes his departure from Westchester, on August 26, 1809, and gives details of the weather conditions, members accompanying him, and illnesses contracted enroute to Port Gibson. Toward the end of his book, he denotes the military draft held in Port Gibson, August, 1813, and records a list of correspondents and gives dates when the letters were sent, January 11, 1810–July 20, 1813. Also included is a receipt for goods received, May 1818.
