MARION COUNTY BAPTIST ASSOCIATION MINUTES
MDAH only has microfilm.
This collection consists of the microfilm copy of the published minutes of the Marion County Baptist Association, which was organized in 1819. The association was known as the Pearl River Baptist Association until 1920, and during its history included churches in several south Mississippi counties and of churches in Green and Washington Parishes, Louisiana, during the early nineteenth century. In 1921, the association was composed of nineteen churches located in the Marion County area. In 1972, the number had grown to twenty-three different churches. The minutes in this collection cover the annual meetings for the period 19211972. As in the minutes of other Baptist associations, the published minutes contain committee reports, obituaries, proceedings, and the constitution of the Association.
