WALNUT GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH (LEAKE COUNTY, MISS.) RECORDS

Walnut Grove Baptist Church was organized on September 19, 1847, "a church of the Regular United Baptist faith and order by the name Fellowship." The church first joined the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Association, later the Harmony and finally the Leake County Association. According to the 1892 minutes of the Harmony Baptist Association, "the Association was notified that the Fellowship Baptist Church had changed her name to Walnut Grove Baptist Church."
Church minutes from 1864–1886 are contained in one volume. These minutes are preceded by an account of the organizational meeting in 1847. A second series of loose-leaf, miscellaneous papers, contains church letters and financial records, 1875–1902, and a short church history, 1955.
