CLEAR BRANCH BAPTIST CHURCH (RANKIN COUNTY) RECORDS

MDAH only has microfilm. (MF Roll # 36310)

According to a two-page history compiled by Ruth Brinson-Craig, the Clear Branch Church was organized in 1897 with the assistance of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church of Rankin County. It can be verified from the records of the Mountain Creek Church that the subject was discussed in conference in June of that year, and the minutes of the Strong River Baptist Association show that the church was received into membership in 1897. The church remained in that association until 1905 when it joined the Rankin County Baptist Association. Clear Branch rejoined the Strong River Association in 1912, and, in 1920, when that Association became the Simpson County Baptist Association, it rejoined the Rankin County Baptist Association.

These records consist of two series. Series one is the minutes for the church, contained in 4 volumes. Series two is the treasurer's record.
