DUPREE (EMMA) FRIENDSHIP BOOK
The inscription in the book indicates that the volume was given to "Emma" by "Aunt May" for Christmas 1882. Many of the autographs give Louisiana addresses, but the address of Emma Dupree at that time is unknown. The friendship book is entitled He Giveth His Beloved Sleep (1880) and contains autographs and sentimental inscriptions, as well as printed poems and engraved illustrations. Included as loose material within the volume are 5 unidentified cartes-de-viste (4 undated, 1 dated May 12, 1882), 1 carte-de-visite identified as Mollie Vance (n.d.), and 1 cabinet card. The cartes-de-viste are from photographic studios in Louisville and Glasgow, Kentucky; Jackson, Mississippi, and Nashville, Tennessee; the cabinet card from a Fort Worth, Texas, studio.
Series: 1. Friendship Book. 2. Photographs.
