Series Identification:

1. Essays. Boxes 1–5 contain Miss Wharton's religious essays.
2. Scrapbooks.
• Box 6 holds Wharton's scrapbooks dealing with Belhaven and Queens colleges and Katharine Wharton's scrapbook.
• Box 7 has two scrapbooks dealing with musical subjects.
• Box 8 has one scrapbook made for Mrs. Enfield Hopkins by her sister, Mary Gneathouse in 1858 and two others with miscellaneous clippings.
• Box 9 has two scrapbooks by Mary Wharton, one of poems cut from newspapers.
• Box 10 has one scrapbook made by Kate Wharton for her sister, Lucy, and one made for Mary E. Hopkins by her mother.
3. Genealogical. Box 11 holds the photo-album of the Wharton-Hopkins-Johnson families, which contains notes on family beginnings and the arms of the Hopkins and Wharton families.
