Biography/History:

The Research Club of Jackson, Mississippi, was organized in the Ladies' Parlor of the New Capitol Building in Jackson on November 7, 1908. This women's organization was formed along broad lines for literary and artistic purposes. The programs at each meeting were devoted to the study of some cultural aspect, and through service projects, the club has supported cash awards and scholarships to encourage the development of literary and artistic talents. The Research Club was affiliated with state and national women's club federations.

Scope and Content:

This collection contains club minutes from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. It also includes club yearbooks for scattered dates from 1961 to 1991, as well as memorials for club members, guest lists, and a copy of the 1924 club constitution and bylaws.
