Biography/History:

William Alexander B. Johnson was born in 1912. Johnson worked for the Work Projects Administration in the 1930s. He also worked at the Hillman Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama, and for the Salvation Army. Johnson lived in Jackson, Mississippi, in the mid-1970s.

Scope and Content:

The collection contains poems and journal entries written by William Alexander B. Johnson. There are two photograph albums of images taken by Johnson during his travels in Alabama, Arizona, California, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Texas. The collection also contains two newsclippings.
