Scope and Content:

This collection contains four diplomas, one certificate of deportment, and one commencement program.

The first diploma (in Latin) was awarded to M. S. Westfall by Allegheny College, Meadville, Pennsylvania, in 1858. The second diploma was awarded to Rosa Howell by Union Female College, Oxford, Mississippi, on June 16, 1875. The third diploma (in Latin) was awarded to Helene R. Avent by Hamilton College, Water Valley, Mississippi, in 1898. An undated diploma was awarded to Elizabeth Hudson, a graduate of the fine-arts department, Blue Mountain College, Blue Mountain, Mississippi.

The certificate of deportment was awarded to E. Postlethwaite by Elizabeth Female Academy, Washington, Mississippi, in 1825.

The commencement program, entitled "Orations and Essays" and dated June 17, 1884, concerns the Class of 1884 at Mississippi Agricultural and Mechanical College (now Mississippi State University), Starkville, Mississippi. It lists the names of the nine senior-class members.
