Correspondence, scrapbooks, memoirs and miscellaneous papers of Edgar S. Wilson (1857–1935), prominent journalist of Jackson, one-time editor of The Walthall Pioneer, the Jackson Commonwealth, The New Mississippian, the Hinds County Gazette, and Jackson correspondent of the New Orleans Picayune and the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
The volumes include sixteen scrapbooks of newspaper clippings written by Mr. Wilson from 1893–1934; one letter book, 1892–1895; and one account ledger, 1928–1931.
The correspondence covers the years 1895–1935 and is filed chronologically.
The miscellaneous papers include Wilson's Memoirs, a speech, articles on John Marshall Stone, Jefferson Davis, and Adam Stone, and miscellaneous newspaper clippings.
