Scope and Content Note:
Papers pertaining to the business and church affairs of George R. Hill, Oxford. Hill was clerk of the United States district and circuit courts of the Northern District of Mississippi, a prominent member of the Oxford Presbyterian Church, and a partner of J. S. Furr in farming operations. The last item in the collection is a copy of the bylaws of the "Montgomery, Hill and Fulcher Dimension Saw-Mill Company," dated August 9, 1901. The volume contains the accounts of the partnership of Hill and Furr, covers the period from December 21, 1878, to December 5, 1892, is 19.5 cm. by 31 cm. in size, and contains 179 pages of accounts.
