Typescript; pages [1]-8 plus additional pages numbered 3, 5, 6, 7; typed title "From the Unknown | A Voice from a Jackson Interior | June 14" is lined out; two holograph titles, "It Ain't Even July Yet" and "Voice from an Unknown Interior," are also lined out; Welty has written in parentheses "All discarded titles"; numerous holograph revisions, some of them changing names of actual people and places to fictitious ones; holograph comments in margins; Welty labels this typescript "1st Original" on page [1]; Welty may have made holograph marginal comments for use by John Kuehl in preparing Write and Rewrite: a Study of the Creative Process (New York: Meredith Press, 1967).
