Scope and Content Note:

Business papers, principally 1853 to 1855, of Frank W. Battaile of Yazoo City and military papers in 1863 and 1864. Battaile served as a private in Company C, Forty-sixth Regiment of Mississippi Infantry, C.S.A., until he became disabled. Late in 1863, he was appointed purchasing agent in Yazoo County for the Quartermaster Department. Twelve items pertain to his activities as purchasing agent or officer.
