Xerox copies of manuscripts (typescripts) of two speeches made by Judge J. P. Coleman and letter of transmittal of the speech of October 15, 1971. On September 6, 1971, Judge Coleman delivered the memorial address at the unveiling of a portrait of Governor Martin Sennett Conner (1891–1950) at the Hinds County Courthouse. On October 15, 1971, Judge Coleman delivered the address at the dedication of the John C. Stennis wing, built to house the Stennis Papers, of the Mitchell Memorial Library at Mississippi State University. The letter of transmittal is from Miss Nellie Commander, Secretary to Judge Coleman, to Miss Charlotte Capers, Department of Archives and History.
