Foster and Freeman Freeland Papers (Z/0429)
Dates: 1837 - 1852
Twenty-one letters written principally from Holly Springs and Oxford, Mississippi, during 1846 and 1847, by Foster and Freeman Freeland, proprietors of a large general store at Holly Springs with a branch at Oxford. Most of the letters were to their family in Massachusetts and a number of them were written somewhat as a diary, depicting the life and trade of the times.
