Scope and Content Note:
This collection contains land transfer records concerning lands originally owned by Pierre and Marie Louise Saucier who were descendants of John B. Saucier, the first recorded white settler of the area in 1712. The Bayou of Delisle, Harrison County, around which the lands are located, was named for Comti de Lisle, a lieutenant of Bienville. Also included is a pamphlet entitled "History of Delisle and Its Missions," by Rev. R. J. Sorin in 1934.
