Miscellaneous business papers of Lewis L. Taylor, a merchant of Jackson. One item is a receipt given by Abram Womack to Lewis L. Taylor for $8,100 for 12 enslaved persons who had been mortgaged by Jacob B. Womack (deceased) to A. L. Bingaman. Another is a certificate for five shares of stock ($50) in the Jackson City Theater bought by Taylor on February 9, 1839, and signed by Joshua Green, Jr., secretary, and James J. Allen, president.
