Photostats and typescript of journal kept by Jackson Thomason (February 29, 1816July 18, 1884) on a trip from Pontotoc, Mississippi to the gold fields in California. Thomason was born in North Carolina, lived in Mississippi, moved to Waco, Texas in 1858, and died there in 1884.
