Dates: 1941 - 1971.

Edwin C. Sturdivant, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Coleman Sturdivant of Tillatoba, retired in August, 1969, after thirty-three years as a fiscal officer for state and federal agencies. Sixteen of those years he served as a division officer. He served as president of the board of directors, Mississippi Division, Sons of Confederate Veterans and as a member of the Mississippi Gettysburg Memorial Commission. Mr. Sturdivant is a member of International Who's Who in Poetry, a member and adviser of the Father Ryan Poetry society of Biloxi and served in the same capacity for the Positive Mental Attitude Breakfast Club. He contributed to a number of poetry magazines and publications, and received national recognition for his poem publicizing the damage done by Hurricane Camille.
