Scope and Content Note:

Papers of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, an organization comprised of descendants of Confederate soldiers, 1901–1961 and undated. These papers, taken from the files of the General Headquarters and Mississippi Division of the S.C.V., consists of correspondence dealing with appointments to various division heads, preparations for meetings and conventions, and applications for membership. Included are the files of Marshall Wingfield, who served as chaplain-in-chief of the S.C.V., 1934–1935; Mississippi State Commander, 1935–1936; Tennessee State Commander, 1937–1938; and later as the historian-in-chief.
