The Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame honors great athletes of the past and present for their achievements on the field of competition and for their services in bringing recognition to our state. Each year the Hall of Fame Committee meets and considers nominations to arrive at five new members which are installed at an annual banquet. The committee also names the outstanding scholar-athletes from the high schools and colleges around the state as recipients of scholarship money and special recognition.

The collection is arranged as follows:

  • correspondence and forms concerning nominations to the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, 1968–1975 (folders 1–12)
  • miscellaneous Hall of Fame material including information from the National Football Foundation, undated (folders 13–17)
