Autobiography of Benjamin Smith written at West Point, Mississippi. The manuscript was begun July 27, 1921. Benjamin Smith was born on October 11, 1842, in Lowndes County. He attended the University of Mississippi and fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War. In the autobiography Smith discusses his parent's land and farming, his activities in the Civil War, and his religious life.
