Biography:

W. T. Jennings

W. T. Jennings was an Orderly Sergeant with Company A of the 12th Mississippi Regiment. He was captured at Fort Gregg near Petersburg, Virginia, on April 2, 1865, and entered Point Lookout, Maryland, as a prisoner of war on April 5, 1865. He was released on June 28, 1865, and arrived home in Jackson on July 10, 1865. 

 

Scope and Content Note:

The notebook contains information about W. T. Jennings's capture and release, mementos, newspaper clippings, and names of those soldiers absent from his company. A note at the end of the book states that the book was made while Jennings was a prisoner.
