Scope and Content Note:

At the time of the earliest minutes in the volume (January 22, 1842), the Ripley Circuit was part of the Memphis Conference. Membership in a district is not reflected until 1849, when the Ripley Circuit is listed as a part of the Aberdeen District, Memphis Conference. In 1864, the Ripley Circuit is shown as a member of the Holly Springs District, and, in 1865, part of the Iuka District. In 1870, the Ripley Circuit returned to the Holly Springs District, but later that year became part of the North Mississippi Conference. In 1871, the Ripley Circuit was a member of the Iuka District, North Mississippi Conference.

This collection consists of microfilm of one volume of minutes of the quarterly conferences of the Ripley Circuit. Included in the minutes are lists of members present at the conferences, lists of officers, financial reports of the circuit, lists of baptized persons (annually), and transactions of the conference, including expulsion of members and resolutions passed. The volume contains no index; minutes are arranged chronologically.
