Daniel Washington McCormick

Daniel Washington McCormick was born on January 13, 1834. In 1864 he married Martha Virginia Knapp. He was a farmer near Union Church, Mississippi, in Jefferson County. He died on October 19, 1896.
 

Scope and Content Note:

This collection consists of a photocopy of a diary kept by Daniel Washington McCormick. All entries are signed by "Wash." The diary contains daily entries from January 25, 1866, through January 10, 1867. The entries primarily reflect work done on McCormick's farm, the weather, the health of McCormick and his family and occasional notes on news of community residents. The final one-third of the volume contains records of McCormick's financial transactions, notes and records on his crops, and scattered notes dated through 1875.
