Biography:
Dabney Lipscomb
Dabney Lipscomb was born in Abbeville District, South Carolina, on May 6, 1803. In 1822, he moved to Greene County, Alabama, with his father and began the study of medicine in the office of a "Dr. Inge." After graduating from medical school in Lexington, Kentucky, he set up his practice in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In February 1832, Lipscomb moved to Columbus, remaining there in medical practice until his death in 1850. Lipscomb served in the state senate from 1845–1850.

This manuscript (24 pp.) of a sermon written by P. P. Nealy was delivered by Nealy at the funeral of Dabney Lipscomb in Columbus in 1850. The manuscript contains biographical information concerning Lipscomb and theological expressions of Nealy.
