This single-volume collection presents personal and business correspondence of E. E. Clarke, who at the time these letters were drafted, was an attorney in Starkville. The scope of the collection is narrow in extending from December 1838 through April 1893. Also the volume is only about one-third filled with the correspondence. The content of the letters covers business discussions with clients and colleagues, personal interest in banking and politics, and personal matters discussed with family members.
